Governance & Security

The European Union launched an antitrust investigation into Meta's decision to restrict AI features in WhatsApp, examining whether these restrictions violate competition laws. This legal discovery requirement highlights the growing scrutiny of AI companies' data practices. On a more positive note, Microsoft announced 12+ new AI security agents in Security Copilot, including a phishing triage agent that detects 6.5x more threats per minute with 77 percent accuracy. These agents show their reasoning for human audit, implementing a "trust but verify" approach that maintains human oversight whilst enabling autonomous security task handling.
